Marcello Gandini on the new Miura

There's a full interview in the last issue of Quattroruote, and in http://www.autoblog.it/post/3018/3018#more there's a brief summary of the text, which I'll try to translate more or less accurately:

"The judgment is not negative in everything, neither on the operation itself on the marketing level ("it makes talk about the brand"), nor on the aesthetics: some elements of style underline themselves given back "faithfully" to the original one, like "the sides fishbones with the difficult fenders", or "the air intakes around the body"; other given back better, like the wider roadways in the modern version, the doors which open on the roof" and the back fender, high and little fluid.

Nevertheless, the back problem for Gandini is that him "original" presented in extremely innovative reality ideas, also in the mechanic, while them "copies" "flaunt some european investment bank dressed, or little more" : the first Miura left the people to open mouth, and piacque [unable to translate piacque!] although (or perhaps "for merit of") some sophistries, like the edge around the light, in origin strips for the entrance of the air in the cockpit.

Gandini would remake the new Miura with an entirely different style, and also with technical innovations: treating itself of a sporty one, seen that now the powers became exaggerated high, just like hung and dimensions, the hypothesis is to rethink to an amusing car with "500 kg of weight and even if 100 cv". But different from the Lotus Elise, "low, uncomfortable... with shapes bound to a passed time"
