being one of disney's most lucrative movies, you better believe they are not going to mess it up, there have been proposals after proposals over the years of directors and studios that have wanted to remake the cult classic but disney has always said no, most notably pixar wanted to remake it in complete 3d animation, the fact that Jeff Bridges actualy signed on to it after saying he'd never participate unless it is made justice with the property shows that it may be good
