My uncle owns a Morgan. Not really an oldtimer, but a 'new' classic car. He uses it in the weekend and for his trips to England (it's RHD).
It has also been a good investment. It's still worth as much now as at the time he bought it.
I don't know much about oldtimers really, so I'm not gonna recommend anything else. Watch out for rust, that's about all the advise I can give you.
