Default Need help with wireless network cable connectors. SMA

Hello guys I am in need of some help.
I have the D-LINK DIR-615 router.
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565
I want to remove the antenna off of that and add a patch antenna and extend that antena to an outdoors location.
I need to know what kind of cable do I need to connect the router to the patch antenna? Also is it possible to make my own? I would perfer this as I need this for a long run from the router. I know you use coax but I do not know exactly which kind and also what kind of connectors to use as well. Help is very appreciated guys thanks.
*EDIT*
I think after some research I just need to know how to make SMA cables?
