in 2000 Ferrari didn't have the best car, it was very competitive... That year Schu had a couple of DNF, as well a Mika... it was a great season.
what happened to Mika in 2001, is pretty much what happened to Kimi last year.

To me Alonso hasn't proven to be the outstanding driver everyone says he is, he hasn't won races like today, when there isn't a clear advantage for him, when the competitive cars are equaly good... he has won having the best car, not being the best driver...
is he good ? yeah, but thats it...
