If you are new to photography then this is a good starter set. You can always upgrade the lenses later once you get the hang of it.
IMO, the Nikkor AF 50 - 1.8D would be good for portaits and low light stuff - indoor shooting, car pictures, etc. It is also very light and will be a decent lens to travel with. The only de-merit is that it has a slow autofocus.
The Nikkor AF-S 18-70 is a great lens with decent wide angle and reasonable zoom. Compared to the AF50, this has a fast autofocus and would be an excellent lens when shooting outdoors in bright light.
The Sigma 70-300 has decent range but is relatively slow lens. I think it will do pretty well unless you are trying to take it to a racetrack. This is possibly the "weakest link" in the package and there are better lenses depending on what you would use the zoom for...
