I've been taking classical lessons since I was 7, which is way harder than anything you could ever do on an electric guitar, so i 've got a pretty good idea of how hard it is. Its arpeggio and Steve Vai's music is only screwy to those who don't understand.

You do realize Yngwie was a classical guitarest. Hell most of his music has elements of classical guitar. He invented a style that blends the two.
Not to mention I disagree with what you say of classical being way more complicated. It isn't. It is different. I use to play trumpet (12 years), sing(6 years), violin (2 years), and played a little guitar (1 year). I've been exposed to musicians from a young age and dabbled in almoest every type of music. Every type of music is different. They all have different styles and techniques. Being great at one that perhaps you don't like does not negate the fact that they are an awesome guitarest and their stuff is hard as shit to match.
And I still say vais music is screwy.. The man strums slowly with his tongue in the shows.. come on...
If I were to listen to you only the people with the style you like are good. It doesn't work that way. The skill comes in being good at what they do. No one can deny Yngwie is one of the best guitarests in the world and your average person will never be able to play his stuff. One can also say the same of Petruci, Satriani.. hell even vai. The style doesn't change that.
edit- You can say you don't like Paviroti but that doesn't negate his abilities.
As for tabs, they're usually inaccurate and lack any means of conevying time sense, so all you're getting are the pitches.

Which matters how when you are doing a cover? You know the time lengths by memory, or you should.
