mattk: if you think that is excessive, you don't know that that is the american style . but you should check out some serious fishing tournaments, especially in the states. a lot of them run minimum triple 250hp outboards. there is strict timing, so you need to get to the fishing grounds quick and make it back in time for the weigh-in. tourny boats weigh at least 10,000lb so theres no such thing as too many motors.
Interesting. I've watched some fishing competitions on television (they are mildly exciting) and the competitors simply zip about in little tinnies with single outboard motors, although armed with all manner of high-tech fish-finding devices.
