That was an enjoyable comparison! They don't do the straight gun fight enough nowadays. I especially liked the fact that they made repeated attempts as well as side by side runs, just so you could see that it wasn't just a launch issue, etc.
Even though I'm not a big vette fan, I was surprised to see it snatch second repeatedly. Maybe it was a tired European press car... I think that all things being equal, the GT2 should be just a little faster in a straight line imo. However, according to sport auto it is around 15 s faster on the NS (7:48 vs. 7:33 - both their times for each car).
Regarding the confidence at high speed, I think it was more a perception thing that the Porsche is considered to be more 'developed' from an engineering standpoint, especially for autobahn use.
