Guys, don't get all sad. it was a prototype 997 and they are destroyed anyway. All prototypes are either disjoint or go into the junk press. Mercedes is keeping them for spareparts. i once saw a television show were they crushed a whole trucktailer of Jaguar Xks, that were used during development. But also, some pre testers from the dodge Viper were used in the television series viper. But due to the fact that some of them were secretely sold, the producers got into hot waters. I also know that some OEMs sell the cars for little money to Suppliers. But they have to sign that they will only use them for testing and scrap them after they are done.
