You guess wrong
The journalists said it was because BMW for the launch, fitted the cars with race style brake pads for better friction, it`s notorious that BMW`s brakes are not the best of the lot.
This way they tried to impress the press a little bit more, although with some old bastards in the job, this wasn`t easy
