Yes you're correct. The old F1 circuit used to go right up the Caesar's Palace valet - but I guarantee you that will not be the case if they do a modern GP here. The Champ Car Vegas GP was entirely around Main St. and Charleston. Old Down town - aka Fremont Street.
Indy was a stupid circuit. I don't think Vegas would be much better, honestly. The track they used for Champ Car was weak. Unless they made it a night race 8) Maybe they'd think of using the Spring Mountain track?
Personally I'd like to see the new GP go to Laguna Seca, Road America, or to Long Beach. They'd never go to rural WI, though so I guess RA's off
