What is the "Mirror" option?
I know on all mu NVidoa cards, "mirror" places the same display on both devices at once... the resolutions would be the same and you scroll around the TV if the PC res is higher than the TV supports (CRT TV) or the TV forces the image to display if some type of LCD.
Does the video card have a different option? I don't recall the option on NVidia (havent done this in a while) but there is one where you specify full screen video goes to the "other" diplay and you simply set the 'other display" properties to its maximum spec.
Then maybe ATI just sucks
