If this the case, how come they dont cut the roof off every ambulance that has an injured person in?
Because when they are in the ambulance medics have alredy checked them for spinal injuries..
Actually, it is because when a person is loaded into an ambulance they are already on a backboard, no matter how small the injury, as there is always the possibiblity of back damage. Once they are safe on a backboard, they can be transported around and moved, as there is no risk of their head moving.
