Lunging knees and flying elbows are the shit in street fights cause they happen quick and sometimes you can cut someone open with an elbow. Once you get things down with your timing everything comes naturally when you get into a fight. It flows really well and your punches are like bricks and kicks hurt like a bitch.
I've been training muay thai for about two solid years. Going everyday 5-6 days a week. One class won't be enough to get you in shape and you'll probably want to go to more classes the better you get. Your first month depending on how you train maybe two or three depending on the shape you are in is going to be the hardest but once you get in shape to keep up with the rest of the class you'll move up quickly.
For my class I pay about $60CDN per month but I get trained by pros regularly Guiseppe Denatale/Dave Horvath and when fights are coming up Duke Roufus comes in to get us ready. Theres other places in my city for like 170 a month but the trainers and the quality of fighters are much better at my place.
To go to a class once a week and pay for a membership plus equipment (boxing gloves, wraps, shorts/tshirt we don't wear uniforms, shin guards, plus sparring gear if you decide to spar) wouldn't be worth it unless you go consistently.
