IS sure is great, I've taken photos at 400mm with a shutter speed of 1/80 and got sharp results.

The Minolta 7D Image stabiliser is just as effective as the Canon version. The difference is the Minolta version is based on the sensor in the camera so you don't see the stabilization effect through the viewfinder.
