I've got a friend who uses NOD32 and really speaks highly of it.
My experience with Norton was pretty bad, so I switched to AntiVir a while back, which is free, fast, and frequently updated.

I disagree with thamar on ZoneAlarm, I've been using it for years and really like it. It gives you much more control about incoming/outgoing connections than just buying a router would (program specific privelages), and the newer versions really load up quickly. Also, it has a free version, which is more than you can say about buying a router.

With the combination of those two I've never had a problem on this computer.
