I can only agree on that!
Low budget lenses that are ok:
- Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 XR Di (although quality control sucks, you have to be lucky to find a good one on the first try, I did

)
- Tamron 17-35 f/2.8-4 (same story here)
- Canon 100-300 f/5.6 L (old and discontinued, but razorsharp)
- Canon 80-200 f/2.8 (same story as above)
- Sigma 70-300 APO DG (best budget-telelens under $500)
