Cough...3.2 MP is more than enough. And here are a couple of shots I've taken with a Powershot A60 (just to show that megapixel doesn't matter that much unless you are a cropping freak, or want to print poster-sized prints).

Not to mention the lenses on these point-and-shoot cameras aren't exactly professional grade, so if you have a large megapixel sensor and shoot at full res, you'll just get a blurry image when enlarged to 100%. This whole megapixel race for consumer cameras is, IMO, bullshit.
