International license will let you drive in the US, but getting a car and driving it under the International license is going to cost you A LOT. Insurance will be expensive as they cant award you points on the international license. I could have gotten one easy in my country (paying for it lol), but I found about this which made it useless to get. So I opted to get a local Florida one and now my insurance is not as expensive as it would have been otherwise.
Try getting an american license as fast as you can... within2 to 3 years of a clean record, you will get your insurance lower.
