They Veyron is going after a slightly different market segment than the Enzo and CGT though. Given, it is supposed to be a "hypercar" with incredible performance, but it is also supposed to be luxury and hi-tech. Given it has AWD, 7 gear DSG gearbox, 4 more cylinders than the Enzo and 6 more than the CGT, 4 turbos, AND a luxury interior, 200kg seems rather reasonable. |
That's not really the point though, its competitors are the enzo, CGT, zonda etc etc....
I mean the XJ220 was the fastest car in the world about a decade ago, but it was widely regarded as a failure mainly down to its poor handling and the expectations jaguar had promised but failed to deliver
