I was mainly talking about GM trucks and suburbans...we had 3 suburbans made before the strike and 2 made after and the difference was amazing...the 3 before were rock solid and the first car after the strike was so so...had small annoying problems and the second had major problems...the battery terminal would leak and burn a hole through the radiator...we had to have it fixed twice but it kept having the same problem..
One of the thing that really bothers me about corvettes is that if you look on the inside of a corvette you will find most all the parts that are used to build GM trucks and whatever..there is hardly any difference, which again is more of a preference issue I guess, may not bother some but it annoys the hell out of me...

Specifically, which parts are you talking about?
What years were your suburbans? Not so sure this has anything to do with overall Corvette quality, which, like overall GM quality, has been on the rise the past few years.
