Trulli is under pressure this year as he does not have a guaranteed drive. I think his good performance at Monaco has invigorated him and it showed in Nurburgring where he out-qualified and out-raced Alonso.
In the past, Trulli was always a fast qualifier but had a tendency to be a mobile chicane in the race - meaning hold up faster traffic behind him. His performance would also lag towards the end.
This year he is better on all fronts. Alonso is on a temprary slump but he will recover for sure.
Both drivers should end up close to each other in the results...
