What do you guys reckon will it happen?

if it did i reckon it would be a perfect combo exciting British driver at the best F1 team :)

mmm I personally think that a good F1 team needs an pilot-engineer ... that ferrari is what it is today has a lot to do with the technical analyses of schumacher ... I don't know if button has this capacity ... a F1 pilot has to be more than just a good pilot ...

I think he is learning now he's BAR's no1 driver this year how to work with the mechanics/ engineers to get the setup of the car right and he must get some of the credit for how much progress BAR have mad recently

i think tha barichello has a contract till 2006 or i am wrong???anyway it would be a bad choice because then he would be a number 2 driver because number 1 would be schumacher...

If you read the story i think ross brawn is thinking about the replacement for schumi when he eventually retires

Ahaha, a few good performances and being the man of the moment will always make you the next candidate for Ferrari...

Come on people use your head! Last year it was Alonso who was rumored to be the next Ferrari driver, when he showed a string of solid performances. MArk Webber was also handeled as a candidate, when he also had a some excellent momentse in the JAguar.

Heck I even remember the press calling Kimi Raikonnen as the next talent to go to Ferrari, once MS retires.....

AS far as I know Button has a contract with Frank Williams, if Button finishes this year within the Top 5, BAR can execute an option to keep him another year. Which they will do, after that Button will be back at Williams. I doubt they will let him go. The only incentive to release Button would be a financial one. Honestly, as long as BMW are involved, I do not see it happening.

I still see Kimi as the potential replacement to Schumi when he finally retires.

I think its the media making a big deal over JT's comments on JB, sure he mite be a future driver for Ferrari, but soo was Kimi and Monty and Ralf and half a dozen other drivers.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Ferrari decides to withdraw their works F1 team when the contracts of Schumacher & Brawn & Todt expire in 2006.
Assuming Mosley cs will get his way in reforming F1 it would be a logical step for Ferrari to start selling F1 kitcars & a technical supportpackage to other teams and privateers.

no way, it might make sense, but come on, tifosi would level ferrari factory to the ground if ferrari stopped racing in F1, besides technology changes so fast, they could sell their current techs for maybe a year or two before it become outdated by sauber standards ... no doubt in my mind that as long as there is F1 there will be a factory ferrari team, any other way would preclude them from calling themselves after enzo ferrari, the man was all about racing, that is what ferrari is, its racing, they could not exist any other way, changes in F1 have come and gone, ferrari adapted, and one could say have now evolved into a monster ... on the original issue it seems weird to me why JB would go anywhere, BAR is getting better, they will win, why would he leave that, having tasted near victory, I cannot see why he would be lured by another team, especially since no other team except for ferrari, can give him more satisfaction, you don't have to be part of big three to be a champion, others have done this before him ... so why not JB

ARE U STUPID!

The fucking reason ferrari was made was to race in f1! Why the fuck would they do that!
