These are another example of how hard the automotive business is-even th exclusive supercar-companies cant afford designing some complicated elements on their own-and must buy it from popular carmakers.

Not only that, but you have to do a significant amount of finessing in order to get the beam in the right place, manufacture the part to a high-degree of accuracy, meet legality requirements and fit to the car. It's definetely easier to borrow and "point and shoot" as far as direction is concerned.

Of course i am aware of a reasons they made it- but i find it interesting that things like these happens-and enjoy finding examples for it :).
Years ago, they were less rules in automotive world,the ecology and safety standards werent so hard as nowadays-and it was much easier to make a supercar for your own 8) .I read once an interview with Giugario who said that now its 20 TIMES more expensive to make even a prototype than it was in his early years.So, think about cost of mass production.
I find it sad that so mighty car makers like Morgan must share parts with a People's Car New Beetle.All these Lambos with Audi parts...World has changed :? Thats all.

I believe the new Ascari uses VW Passat rear lights (.. or was ith the Iceni?)

Yep, and the noble has mondeo rear lights. Esprit used toyota lights. Ascari has peugeot headlamps, mclaren f1 rear lamps are also used on a bus IIRC..

Parts bin pilfering is common for all small run cars. e.g. astons using ford switches, gallardo uses audi switches, lots of fiat switchgear in early ferraris.. in fact there is only one company that stands out in NOT using other manufacturer stuff and that is TVR. Switchgear etc is all bespoke but cheaper to mill alu than to tool up to cast in plastic :D

LOL @ callaway... it looks much cooler on it though I must admit. I did not know about that light tunneling and stuff... that is why i love JW, I learn something every day!

Zonda uses real lights of the last Diablo.

Noble M12 GTO3R uses a lot of Ford parts

I don't like this fact, look for example at the TVR,like said before there isn't a single piece of plastic in it and all the switches are bespoken, fantastic...If a car is really good to drive, I can forgive Ford Parts and so on
