GP San Marino at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari 2004

Usually I'm an optimistic type of man but I have a bad feeling about next weekend's Formula 1 GP.
> It's ten years ago that both Ratzenberg and Senna lost their lives and Barichello nearly chooked to deatch after crashes at the same circuit .
> 1994: Michael Schumacher destroys the opposition in the first 2 GP's of the season.
> 2004: All other teams are struggling to come to terms with the utter dominance of Ferrari
> Laps times have come down considerably compared to the 2003 season
> Drivers are complaining about the high cornering speeds of their 2004 cars > McLaren / Raikkonen is in the same position as Williams / Senna was 10 years ago: clear Pre-Season title favorites and completely blown away by the opposition in the first races.

Let's hope I'm totally wrong.

Well, F1 car safety has come a long way from 10 years ago.......we have seen full speed crash and the driver walked away unscratched.....

Don't worry to much leven and enjoy yet another weekend of dominance from Ferrari. I think they and BAR will put on a good show this weekend

well tobad that weekend has pasted (date of the 1994 GP) and the car's today, don't have half the problems they did back then

The track changed, the cars are safer and i am not supersticious so i don't think that there will be problems but it's true that this 1994 week end was horrible with an accumulation of disasters.
It was in the air :(

Raikkonen was just playing around and McLaren was just taunting everyone one else, now they are going to win and prove to be unstoppable, well, let's hope so anyway as I am sick and tired of seeing Ferrari, one-two.

I got your word on that

Anyway when did that Toyota crash in Japan? 2002 or 2003? That crash was scary and the driver walked away with a headacke.

Was it Da Matta in Suzuka 2003?

2003? Im not sure but I think it was in 2002...

Another horrible crash happened in 2001 to Luciano Burti in Spa Francorchamps... and as far as I remember he didn't suffer big injuries

You are right it was Allan McNish in 2002

ravenpaua 04-20-2004 05:52 PM

No.... the accident was between Irvine and Luciano Burti.

well the F1 cars are so much more safer than 10 years ago...the speed also increased a lot...so the lap times

but i guess even on a 300-310 km/h-crash the drivers get out of the car walking...just see Barrichello on the first Indianapolis-gp in 2000..he crashed very very fast on the last corner before completing the lap..it was so so fast...and??

he just got out of the car walking :D
