new corado??
 

does anyone know if there are in plans or concepts for a new corado?
i have heard some rumors but i dont think they were real

The first ones weren't hot sellers, so I doubt they would. But who knows.
The only "concept" pics I've seen are photoshop creations by VW freaks.

And now that they make the Golf R32 I'm not really sure
if there would be a really clear cut slot for a Corrado in
the market. In fact I kinda think the R32 sorta tool it's
place. :?

I think a new corrado would be a great idea. I remember driving one of the first ones in the 90's . It was such a blast to drive. Although the R32 would be similar in performance, putting that package in a slinky coupe shape would send sales through the roof!

I would love to own a Corrado even if it's a second hand...rather than driving a toyota or honda at my age, in the place i live in

They did have a Golf with the same engine as the Corrado at the
same time but they never had to top a Golf as powerfull as the R32
with the Corrado. I know that you can never have to much power
but the Golf R32 already has 240hp, don't you think that any more
would be insane or at least so insane that volkswagen would not
produce it. And if they did it would probably cost over $35,000 which
is way to much in my opinion. Well that's my opinion at least, it's
probably BS anyway. :wink: Incidently, I would have nothing wrong
with it if they did make it. :D

You think so? :| Well think again. :wink: The VR6 Golf will still
cost you about $13,000 to $15,000 dallors in excellent condition. :shock:

A good condition VR6 model in my area are usually around the $7000 - $8000 mark. They are pretty rare here. The G60 versions aren't much cheaper.

The $15,000 he said would be for a used but still somewhat new VR6 Golf. You should be able to get a 2000-2001 model or so with that kind of money.
As I'm sure you know, they haven't made Corrados for a few years now, but they hold their value.

Ok, it wasn't a Golf, it was the GTI that had the VR6 engines. It was an option, most were probably sold with the 1.8T engine. Either way, it's still a Golf damnit.

Yes, I'm positive that the different names in different countries added to the confusion. :wink: :D

I only say damnit about the GTi being a Golf because it is a Golf! I don't know how many times I've called one a Golf and had some VW nerd tell me to call it a GTi. I continue to call them Golfs to irritate them.

The VR6 is a "V" engine, but it's only 15* and uses one head. Was it the same for the Golf 3 with the V6 you got? Or did it have a "true" V6 with two seperate banks of cylinders and two heads?

As far as I know, no Golfs here got a true V6. The only VW's that I can think of that have a true V6 would be the Passat, Eurovans and the Toureg. Thats not counting the numerous Audis that have one though.
