help saving pics as jpeg

something happened to my internet settings so that every time i right click to save it it only saves as a bitmap. i wanna save it as .jpg but there's only .bmp and no other options (.jpg or "all files") in the drop down menu. how do i get things to save as .jpg again?

please help.

i've got the same problem..........i dont know how to fix it..but i have a temp soloution....if u right click the pic and copy the whole link, u can paste it into DAP and dl it through there..

if anybody knows how to actually fix this, please let us know!!

i wish there were an easier way but that sounds a shitload quicker than how i've been doing it. i save the pic as a bitmap and open it with a photo editing program and THEN save it as a jpeg. but after about 5 of em i realized it's a serious pain in the ass so i got desperate and made this thread

Exactly the same thing has happend to me and its annoying as hell. I noticed its fine on a computer I recently installed a fresh copy of XP on....obvisouly this is slightly overkill to fix the problem as I am sure there is an easier solution.

Fuck same here LOL! You sure it's our PCs fault? It happens maybe 50% of the time, but really annoying to have to save them all again with Photoshop.

clearing your temporary internet files should fix this

you can either get Mozilla browser (i use firefox) or right click on the img and select PROPERTIES and copy the .jpg's address and ADD it to DAP

Or open up DAP's window and drag and drop the img to it.

^^^that's just as complicated as saving it as bitmap and then saving it as a jpg with a photo editing program.

oddly enough, i can save pics from certain sites as jpeg but others i can only save as bitmap? what's strange about it is these are sites that allowed me to save em as jpegs before but not anymore... :?

nevermind, i finally followed dan's advice and cleaned out my temp internet files folder and it's all back to normal  (gained 1.35 gb of space from it too) thanks dan :D
