removing protected files?!?!
how do i take ownership of some files on my computer froma pervious XP install so i can erase them!!!
help i just wana get rid of the fucking files, they are the backup/temp files and folders from a failed SP1 instilation, and they are pissing me off, and i can'y find a way to take ownership of them in windows XP Wiondows XP Professional SP1 |
Oops, I didn't read it too carefully the first time. You can try booting in safe mode, and then deleting.

goto folder options, disable simple file sharing, then ok.
then do properties on the folder and goto security tab then advance then you hsould be able to inherit ownership. do whatever you want afterwrds |
delete them by DOS, command prompt. It should work that way but you would neet to know the DOS commands. Dont know them all offhand, but they have their collection just type help in dos.
