you r crazy!
i would never have tha patience or ability to do that, i would like to have it but already complete, not like that.
the detail is tooooooo much!! i bet its almost as hard as building the real thing, i am  by the detail!
nice work!
and keep us updated with the pics, but not as uch as in the other forum, just the big differences from the old pic because with all the detail u would never finish uploading pics

That is insane mate. I saw stuff more extreme...like a 1:4 I think it was fully operating F512M with gears and everything. But this is awesome! You made me want to go out and buy one of those kits so I can do this on weekends.

BTW You know of any place were I can buy a kit like this online? Well not like this, just a decent kit...a regualr one and not 1:8 something way smaller.

tigerx 02-22-2004 05:04 PM

where do you buy these "kits".

supercarfreak 02-22-2004 05:11 PM

thanks. i bought the base pocher 1:8 f40 kit (unbuilt and mint) off ebay for $800
then i bought the 1 of 200 transkit (transformation kit that adds detail) for $1400 from www.scaleautoworks.com - they dont have any in stock at the moment

SFDMALEX - i would just get tamiya's plastic 1:24 F40 kit , $10 to $20

What glue do you recomend to use?

jon_s 02-22-2004 05:51 PM

Holy crap, that is stunning!
ok, about half way throught the thread now.... looking good!

I think I could handle the putting together, but the painting, and the work you did on the body.....beyond me!

tamiya's extra thin cement is good

Are the Tamiya kits any good...quality wise?? Obviously nothing on the scale of what you have!

yeah, i got a tamiya mitsubishi 3000gt... I started off well but then just wanted to have it done, ended up screwing it =(

I ruined a BMW Z3 when i was 13. I had gotten most of the bits to fit together and all glued. BUt i completely messed up on the paint job.

Blue body becmae blue body + windscreen. Never touched a plastic model kit again since then.

I'm wndering when would be a good time to start again. At least if i dont have the actual one, a 20 dallar plastic kit will at least let me relive my hot wheels fantasies.

A black Maclaren F1. Yes, that would do nicely.

That's why you paint the parts before you assemble them then no painted windshield.

Start now and have fun with it I make the occasional model aswell.
