After Meeting the SLR...

on Feb.14 i met my frist SLR, and everything about the nose being to big is bullshit, it looks perfect, this car was amazing, it looks so smooth, so elegent, so MMmmWWaaa!

Everyone is calling this car an upset of 2003-2004, i just don't see it, this car is just what i think it was ment to be, a car that could take about anything it runs into on the road, and still have class and style, and enzo and F1 just don't seem to have class (CGT might have class, but i haven't seen it yet). You can park this car outside the local mall and nobody will touch it. This car is not a car to embarrass people with gross bhp and buring rubber (yet it has both) it is ment to arrive the owner in style and class while doing 200mph.

that nose doesn't look big, it looks good

i know what you mean...the pix dont do it justice..its soo much wider and shorter than the pix show it yto be.. you realyl ahve to see it before u form an opinion.

The359 02-15-2004 09:43 PM

I still think it looks like ass.

deth 02-15-2004 09:50 PM

Zonda11 02-15-2004 10:11 PM

The car that really surpised me was the ROLLS PHANTOM...That thing is HUGE,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the hood is longer than my car!!

deth 02-15-2004 10:14 PM

ya no kidding..i f u ahve a look at the pix i posted, u'll see a aluminum knob..thats actually the butt end of an umbrella. its stored IN the door! the damn umbrella is graphite tipped and everything....the guy said 'it'd probably cost more to buy the umbrella individually and the buy the car' jokingly

DeMoN 02-15-2004 11:19 PM

is this sarcasm? I think this car well...sucks

Zonda11 02-15-2004 11:30 PM

I thought it sucked a while ago too,,,,sure it may be too expensive, the noise it makes may not compare to any Ferrari, and the interior is too plasticy for Top Gear,,,,,,,but somehow meeting a car in person is sooo much different from looking at pictures or watching videos. It seemed like thousands of people at the show that were pretty excited about the SLR.

Yea, I saw it at the autoshow... don't care. I would take it if someone dropped it to me. but, I would never buy one.

hum... offcours the SLR has class..is made by benz/maclaren...is like a faster version of sl, and more racy version of sl
CGT/Enzo are meant to be a racer.. this just a fast luxury car

btw.. toronto,, did u see teh maclaren f1 yet?

kteo2003 02-16-2004 03:59 AM

i haven't seen a slr in the road but i have seen a zonda....the old version not the c112s but anyway that was T H E supercar....i don't think slr can look like that...

astonmartinandy 02-16-2004 09:36 AM

It is a good car no doubt, but it lacks that special quality that only some cars possess. Apart from the fact the AMG are going to embarrass merecedes further when they release even more powerful engines on the new CL/SL which will outgun the SLR!!

dylan99 02-16-2004 10:55 AM

the SLR is a beautiful car I like it a lot many ppl see the car as the big brother of the SL but I see it as the SLR McLaren a unique car, very intense brutal car.
