The name of the car is a little misleading.

It is a front mid-engined car, just like every C5 and C6 Vette - and only barely, because the engine is behind the front axle ;)

That was kind of humorous in that he didn't realize that it was his company in charge of the "style points" or engineering portion of the contest. From what I could tell, the points were based more on style and build quality. IE, the Detroit Speed cars suffered from their various paint chips (they see track time all the time.) I have a video of this El Camino going off in my corner, 5b. Maybe I'll get that posted on youtube in not forever.
