Are they using it as a chase car? I thought it was just for show.

Hahaha. Those are fully fledged police cars. They're supposed to use them for high speed chases on the Autostrada and for organ transplant transports, not for crashing into parked cars on local streets.

It's okay though. They still have the LP560-4 version.

I heard that all of the older Gallardo police cars went back to Lambo so that the effects of unusually high mileages could be studied, and at this time they were all replaced by 560s. So this must have happened a while ago?

I wonder how much a "POLIZIA USED" gallardo would go for? I mean I have been to auctions where the highway patrol sells their used Saleen mustangs and SS camaros here in the USA, they are pretty well taken care of and go for very low prices, I saw a 2007 Saleen stang supercharged and all with only 38k miles go for US$15,000 that is less than GBP$8,000 right?

so I think one of these used gallardos would be awesome to have, (there is always the paint shop if you need to get rid of the hideous blue/white combo)

This happened this November and this particular car was apparently in a show outing, not in an official police duty.
