Viper Crash
Reckless driving to the dot. |
Poor Viper - that right there is another VIN number retired.
|
*shakes head* Doesn't the hood alone on those old Vipers cost in excess of $15k? He could at least have crashed on a roundabout versus running into a truck in traffic. How embarrassing.
|
That happened in my country :D
|
The word "mug" springs to mind, there's enough traffic on the roads for big trucks to be using the left lane to overtake, so why get into the right lane and floor it!

Is there any particular reason the bonnet costs so much?
|
It is a hand-made complex curve laminate construction, and it has always just cost a lot. Perhaps a friendly Viper owner might have a better explanation, but the trick is finding a friendly Viper owner.... ;)
|
LOL! I guess that might explain why Viper's depreciate so quickly. I saw 2008 coupe on autotrader the other day going for 64k CDN with only 10k km on it.

The price of the GenI and GenII hood is what keeps insurance premiums stupidly high - a parker lot fender bender is a $15k to $20k excercise
Even a used Gen I hood on eBay is over two grand http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...d=110428196998 |

2003+ Vipers have a much cheaper hood. As to the "Friendly viper owner" They exist; but as a general rule, I will never do anything with the Viper 'clubs' ever again. |
