This is really insane... :cool2:
I am not so sure about the quality of the A-arm, they need to be able to absorb lot of shocks and vibrations and with the quality of his welds...:?: As for the rotors with home made hole he better be very gentle with them otherwise :whistling: http://www.girodisc.com/newspict/cracks.jpg |
Here is the build topic

Thanks for the link!
This is a good website although a little depressing sometime ... Look at this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=164148 I am not sure we are all living in the same world... |
Just say no to cross drilled rotors period. Slots are much more functional, don't compromise the structure of the rotor, and can't cause any uneven wear from burrs etc. The holes, in theory, let gasses escape, but many full-on race cars manage just fine with solid rotors. Then, your hardcore race cars all use slots. You will not find a cross drilled rotors on any serious professional race car. Cross drilled rotors are little more than an outdated fashion statement.

Not every drilled rotors are equal but it is true that drilling will compromise the structure and will create weak points. Also a negative aspect of drilled rotor is that they have a cheese grader effect that eats pads very fast and leave tons of dust. Slotted also have this problem (should be called cheese slicer in that case ).
Looks like dimpled rotors offer a good compromise =>http://bimmerworld.com/perfBMWarticle.pdf If you got $$$ carbon ceramic are the best  |
