The big red camaro will compete at the texas mile march 2009
I wonder wath she will in a standing mile.
Big Red will be competing in the ‘Texas Mile’ on March 27 and 28, 2009 in Goliad, Texas. We have not competed in the event in the past, but it looks like a lot of fun! :-) |
I dont forsee much topend, maybe 200 or so.
Unless they bump the power up to the 1500+ level they wont be challenging the current King's of the Mile. 230mph in a standing mile is easy to do.. yo ujust need a bale of money and a even bigger bucket of HP ;) |

but that is a rumor for now |
I think they have already done over 200mph at the silverstate classic several years ago.

^ that was 200mph in an open road race, miles and miles to run at 200mph - impressive in its own way, but 200mph+ in the standing mile is another league totally.

Obviously, however the car has the potential. |
This will be really interesting to see. It's good to see Big Red running some events again. If it does make that sort of power, it'll be much like the big hp Vipers and 'vettes but with worse aerodynamics. It'd be awesome if it could touch the 200 mph mark.

Hope thye post results. A buddy was down there today and said the Hennessy ZR1 just failed to clip 200mph. He never saw Big Red run, but was onyl there for a short while.
A couple of 200mph Vettes, but most were in the 180 to 195mph range. I suspect we will start seeing videos crop up Monday. |

There's Big Red not sounding particularly healthy. |
