the L88 is actually a 427CI engine, and was factory rated at 430hp, which is a joke. actual output is over 500+ hp. IMO the 67-69 L88 vettes were the ultimate vettes ever made. I have been lucky to drive a real L88 and it was a monster, it reminded me of a real 427 cobra i drove a while back

That car sounds quite nice to say the least. It should at least have plenty of torque to hold a higher gear if need be. Paul . . . lucky. :-)
