Correction. They did compete in the Speed GT, but no more. They consistently got last place like the Volvo S60 R. There was no way that an STI could compete on track with Corvettes, Vipers, and Mustangs. ;-)

They just "forgot" to update. (rolls eyes) I go to Long Beach Grand Prix every year and yeah... 2006 is the only time I've seen it, and it failed to start in 2007. Then it disappeared from from the Speed GT grid soon after... :-P

and this is why they fail . . .

" . . . that are just blown away that they see this 4 door awd turbo 4 cylinder car just shining with these big 10 cylinder V8's"

let's not forget the dead weight of awd on a dry tarmac course, higher cg, and smaller torque curve either.

It was painful watching the 3 awd entries understeer through turn eight. The R34 was the worst as it failed to make the corner twice while blowing the apex a couple of other times allowing competitors to slip by.

these are from the '06 LBGP where awd cars made their most significant efforts on the Speed World Challenge

Oh yeah. I forgot about the Skyline. That did horribly. Didn't it crash?

Bahahahahahahah.

I can't stand that music. There's a better version of that song.

And I wonder if that Marshall Pruett in the video is the same Marshall Pruett that I'm thinking of. Must be.

The Skyline sort of crashed as it couldn't make the turn and just braked in a straight line. It did that twice and hit the corner of that barrier at about 10 mph each time.
