Nissan 350 z whit aps twin turbo setup on a back road
:-)8-) |
The 350 Z sounds even from outside ;-) Thanks mate

pagani, are you sure this is a TT setup? I don't hear any wastegate, or turbo spool, and the car doesn't look "TT" fast IMO
Nice bit of footage tho ;) |

Yeah, you can just barely hear it in the beginning of the video.
|
OK, first off the car never backs off the throttle at the beginning when he is getting on the road so you CANT be hearing anything (not to mention he couldnt have built any boost at 1000rpm rolling start). Second there is absolutely NO Blow off sound between shift... It doesnt seem to be drowned out either because you can hear the gear changes. At no point in the video can you hear any telltale turbo sounds. I've seen and heard an APS TT Z and the intake sound ALONE would give it away...
Even if it didnt have BOV's but only had by pass valves, you would still hear that loud and clear in the cabin. Intakes dont sound anywhere near aggressive enough to be for a TT. Also so you know, the APS TT uses pretty small turbos, you will not hear those little things spool, so stop looking for the spool sound. The turbos they use, I'm pretty sure, are internally gated anyway so you wouldnt hear dump tubes from an external wastegate either. The sound of the exhaust is way too gradual too...no turbo spike like this video has... I dont believe that car is turboed pagani... THIS is what an APS TT Z sounds like... |

Look, I don't give a damn about that cute little Z or whatever it has done to it. I simply stated what can be heard at the beginning of the video. |

You simply stated that, and you're simply hearing what you want to hear. A wastegate? Really? do you even know what a wastegate is? I hope you dont think a wastegate and a blow off valve are the same thing... |

Remember, I couldn't care less about this Z, or any of them in fact. As far as what I know, yes, I am familiar with the difference. Please know that you aren't talking to some silly internet kid. You've been here long enough to know who I am, and that I don't just post nonsense. I agree that you should hear it with each gear change, but again, I am simply saying that something can be heard after the first two gear changes in the video, nothing more. If you take a look at my first post in this thread, that is all I said. I didn't chime in to debate the type of Z this is. |
I think it's turbo, just like Minacious is saying you can hear it in the beginning, and I thought it was pretty obvious why you can't hear through the rest of the video because whoever is driving never even gets close to giving it full throttle, and since rcsti pointed out it uses small turbos then it's going to be even harder to hear any spooling. And it is just as noticeable with a diverter valve as it is with a blow-off valve, just a different sound.
Point is: yes it sounds turbo at the beginning but he never gets on it after that, so it doesn't show was the APS TT can supposedly do. |
