^Means nothing. These engine awards is nothing than another advertisement.

Where's the category for the "Most Fun Engine of the year"? ;)

styla21 05-07-2008 07:14 PM

^Which engine would take out that honor? ;-)

RC45 05-07-2008 07:45 PM

^^ well.. only one cam... half the number of valves of the other guys - and no direct injection allowed... 11* or so included valve angle - some Ti internal bits and pieces.. heads that flow like small tornadoes... and necksnapping giddyup and an earsplitting sound track .... ;)

I think the best engine BMW has ever done is the I6 in the M3 CSL. Ofcourse those new engines are mighty monsters too, but still I think this awarding is just advertizing. They should go and choose the best chassis, best transmission, best interior, best rearview mirror and best passenger airbag too.

The year 2008 isnt over yet.. WTF is wrong with these people ?

As per the last 9 years of running the awards, they are calculated year-to-year running month May-to-May. I can't tell you why the NFL has a "World Series" either; but both are precedented and established.

Porsche did get the award for Performance car of the year award.. Does that make you feel better? :-P

5vz-fe 05-08-2008 11:02 AM

^That should be Audi's bi-turbo V10

or the highly controversial GTR's 480hp V6 LOL

04RCSTI 05-08-2008 11:47 AM

Whats up, STI takes the 2.5 again! Not surprised ;)

5vz-fe 05-08-2008 12:03 PM

^Sorry, that's probably the Non-STi block LOL

They probably do that to piss you off.
