what exactly, is being saved by turning off the faucet besides a few pennies on the electric bill? Water is recycled naturally through the processes that have existed for billions of years.... ???

It's sneaky, and probably effective too, sadly. Now Canadians are going to credit Toyota for reducing water ...somehow. No one ever talks about how Tundras get 15mpg...

In drought affected countries such as Australia, it's actually quite a big deal. Unfortunately sea water is not useable other than to swim in here. (Seeing as we are surrounded by the stuff, you would think we would be looking toward desalination plants... But, no. :?:) So we rely on water that falls from above, into a catchment, then down your pipes. In my city of 500,000 + ppl we got down to 7% dam capacity last year.
Fortunately it's rained the most it has in a decade lately, and things looking up. :-)

Whatever Toyota's water-saving efforts at the manufacturing plants are, it won't even touch the surface of the environmental effects from its cars though..
