The car seems very stable through corners but I still like the sound of the old inline 6.

I am whit you on the sound but outerwise the vq engine will be the new benchmark japanese engine.
And i have read that vq engine will run 600 hp all day long.
But still love the old warhorse rb26dett.

Sounds extremely subdued? I'm sure this will be Japanese autmotive genius; but there's not much that i've read that excites me at all about this car...

Not nearly as harmonious. The sound doesn't have much heart IMO. Also, I still haven't gotten over the fact it weighs more than a 2001 BMW 540i.

^Yeah, weight is actually GT-R's biggest enemy. If they wanna beat the porsche turbo, they should have reduced the weight to 3300lbs

That 42 to 110+ was very impressive

They have all ready beaten the porsche whit the current weight.
I think the will bring out a lighter version of the gtr in the near future.

^Sorry, until someone take 1 out from the dealer and do a lap, I still dont believe they beat the turbo yet.

When I see GT-R's pulling out and passing GT3's and 911T's on race tracks and ont he street aorund the world then we can say that is true ;)

But more importantly is once the rest of the manufacturers get to share the tyres that Nissan is using we shall see the results.

These are a next generation street tyre for sure - and I am surprised people are so quick to dismiss this little detail.

Besides - don't we expect a newer car to be "better" than an older car?

But with tyres being a drivers choice, they soon level the playing field.
