Cheap performance car For me..need help.
 

I'm going to buy a new car within 2 months since I killed my little barina(Suzuki Swift).I place many Japanese cars in the list as they are the cheapest and easy to work on.I didn't place any european cars as they cost too much to repair here and parts expensive.Most of these cars are from the late 80s because we only have Unleaded petrol.Most of these cars cost under 8 grand Australia.Most of these cars can be replace with bigger engines or be turbo later on making them a great base to build off from.Anyway I want to know your opinions about this?.I been told different things like don't get rotor man,because they used oil and they chew fuel.

I love the RX-7, but I'd be wary of the 3rd gens because the had reliability/overheating issues. Such that if the previous owners abused them the engines are hurting.

Well if your thinking of tuning the car latter or changing the engine.. My self might inspire you....

My friend bought this Toyota 80s,RWD Corolla and he put a ( Single or twin not sure ) supra engine in their.. My bro was lucky enough to be in the passenger seat.. he says the car keeps wheels spinning at high gear.. He says it's superfast..

i really hafta push on the s13 silvia setup, sooo much fun to flog around a track, and you also have option to set it up for some pretty big power as well if your heart so desires. the sr20det motors in an s13 body are a wonderfuly easy platform to begin with. quick outta the box(with the sr20det) and with mild suspension upgrades a blast to drive. wont be terribly expensive either.

if you go with an ae86, id say go for a 20 valve swap, or if ya want the big stuff a 3sgte(im quite fond of these, lol). id never put a straight six supra motor(tt or single) in an ae86, it absolutely kills the balance of the car and would be useless for much other than drag, not to mention you would have major fitment issues. ive seen these done before and it's rediculous for the extents you have to go to stuff one of those things in there.

Whatever you do stay away from the starion. Finding parts is like pulling teeth.

get the silvia...... is the one that sounds good in ur list man!

S13 all the way. Mass number of aftermarket parts. and their cheap as well. Tell us when u make ur decision I wouldnt mind seeing ur car. :D

I prefer the RX-7. With simple modification, it can easily reach 300+bhp. Plus the revvy engine and good handling, it can easily outrun expensive Ferraris. It really drinks fuel though, and have quite a bit of engine related problems.

I will,Depends when I can get it,I have to save a bit,So I can a get a car loan,although being a student its hard without a job.But I might be getting a job at Pharmacal company soon.So we will see in 2 months.But everyone says the Silvia is the best so far.Not only that,my mates are pressuring me to buy the silvia as well(proably because they want to drive it).If I get a video camera,I just show how fast it is against another cheap performance car own by my brother(hoping its up and running) down at eastern creek drags(off street drag racing)..But the Silvia is great car.But yeah,Soon as I got it,I'll take some pics of it and post it on here.

The mark 1 golf Gti never came to australia,plus I hate VW..

i really dont know why u hate VW,plus the mk1 and mk2 golf's the GTI ones are pretty quick.reliable and strong

out of that list though i would say the S13

in the states if I had to pickup something fast, cheap (under $15K) and has alotta aftermarket parts, I'd get one of these 2nd hand:

1. Mustang GT 1994-2002
2. Camaro 1993-2002
3. 300ZX twin turbo 1990-1996
4. Supra Turbo 1993-1999

pennywise-pound foolish? not if you're gonna replace/repair with aftermarket performance parts anyways, imo.

Yes!!! I agree it has to be RX-7! Good handling plus great looks too!! S13 is good, but it is not there yet. RX-7 is an icon!!
