Skyline GTR NS Lap - Fast lap - 7:38.54... but...
 

Notice at between 1:00 and 1:08 where the lap begins being timed... and where the lap stop's being timed. This is the 26,600 m NS lap time, and is not used by the major manufacturers when claiming a lap time.... not GM, BMW, Audi, Porsche, and supposedly not Sport Auto either.

The distance which is the true lap is 26,823 Meters, about 4-6 seconds longer then what is measured.

The lap is totally BALLS OUT.... but the timing is uncomparable to the 911 Turbo's 7:40, the C6 Z06's 7:43, the GT2's 7:32, etc. etc.

I've read in other forums that this lap is similar to the laps that SA do in its Super Tests. So this lap is comparable to the 7:49 of the Z06, for instance. The thing is that maybe that unit doesn't have 480 hp, because with two turbos Nissan can easily change the power output. And does that unit have the same set-up that production units will have? We don't know.

with a top speed of 167 mph on dottinger hoe? [so i've read] I don't think its more then the claimed 480 hp. Throttle response seems very good in this car... and the car has very very high cornering speeds.. i love watching this guy balancing this car out... even if so much of it is electronic dif, and brakes control

This will be one heck of a car.
Faster than allot of fast cars
But slower than 997 gt2 or that kind of car.
I really want to kown wathe the tuners have in mind of this
And just think wath mines could do with this car.

its about the same speed as a C6 Z06 around NS, but with softer tires, so its got higher cornering speeds... def. not R compound tho

The gtr is very impressive if you think about the weight of it.
Regardless what tires it used on the lap[ this is one quick car.

Nth, are you sure about that? Some of the comments (which I didn't read all of it) stated that is the pit lane run off area and that is actually the correct timing method used.

it is one of the timing methods used, but I have on good word that it is not what the manufacturer's use when timing. Hence known timing using a 26,823m distance ;)

I've seen a max. sped of 280 km/h. Max. speeds of other cars:

282 km/h - Porsche 997 Turbo (another bi-turbo car probably with more power that stated by the mfr)
281 km/h – Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM
281 km/h – Pagani Zonda F
280 km/h – Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3

279 km/h – Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG *

273 km/h – Ferrari F430
273 km/h - AC Schnitzer 6er Tension
272 km/h – Porsche 997 GT3
272 km/h – Porsche 996 GT3
272 km/h – Lamborghini Diablo GT
271 km/h – Porsche 996 Turbo

The 26 km figure is with the new gran prix track the used for dtm and f1.

I think this will be the benchmark for sportcars for the coming years.
And i wonder how the old rival the mitsubishi evo will be against the new gtr.

Definitely a fast time, but if their benchmark was the 997 turbo, which had been seen many times lapping with it, what did you expect? Was it supposed to be much slower?

No one has commented on the sound that this thing makes. Yeah, I know turbos aren't the best for this in general, but this thing sounds outright boring; especially with the way that the DSG like trans shifts gears. It sounds like a car in a crappy video game or something.

well it sounds bad on a youtube video of a incar camera, with prolly sub-par audio. I bet the car will sound great, nissan has been pretty good about that lately, (the 350z and G35/37 sounds awesome stock)

by the niose the turbos are making and the exhaust note in the car i think it will be more than acceptable sound wise.
