Best Codec pack?

I was using one for a long time, but I hate the little "thingys" showing up in the system tray when a movie is played..
whats the best codec pack\codecs to use for movie playbacks only, not coding.. without all that crap.. just good playback..

thanks in advance guys!

K-lite is what I am using. I'm quite pleased with it, but it is showing the 'thingys'in the system tray though.

yeah.. i'm now giving cccp a tray... and when installed is asked if i wanted those to show or now.. let see how it works..

You can usually disable the "Thingies" to not be shown in the task-bar. ffdshow for example has an option to hide the icons.

I do use VLC, a lot.. but untill they'll make it better looking and some other changes, its never gonna be my main player.. WMP11 in vista is pretty good! + I like the vids thumbnails..
