Terje Haakonsen, one of the greatest snowboarders in the world. He's won a ton of contests, even qualified for the Mount Baker Slalom riding switch. Switch means riding with yor opposite foot forward. For those that don't snowboard, it's very tricky and takes a lot of practice to even be comfortable with it.
He's also a majo reason why the majority of snowboarders don't care about the Olympics. Terje boycotted it for not choosing the ISF as the sanctioning body and without Terje there, you are not seeing the best in the world.

Also, First Decent is a great movie if you are at all interested in snowboardings history. Basically, it was hated by more than just skiiers. And now, it's the savior of winter sports and huge resorts blow half their budget to bring us in.

i got the 'frist decent' dvd and i gotta say, what a movie! terje haakonsen is definately one of the most inspiring snowboarders out there, truly a master.

the movie as itself doesn't serve soooo much snowboarding (compared to 'King Size' which is more awesome imo :P ) but you also get a really great summary of the history of snowboarding!

@Dani

skis? now that would be boring to watch :P :fist: :mrgreen:
