Hi! I'm going to install an helpdesk software in the company where I work. We have around 120 users, with an expectable growth rate of 20% per year.

Which software do you think is the best?


Minimal Requirements:
-Creation of tickets from emails sent by users
-Hability to define and capture ticket ownership
-Ticket forwarding
-Registry of resolution times, response times, etc
-Display os statistics
-Web interface
-Etc, etc

If possible, it's best if its free, but if there is an obviously better choice at a reasonable price, it's an option to consider.


It's preferable to run in RHEL.

Suggestions?

FireFox.. or better yet, a Mac running OS/X I here its good for everything :P ;)

I dont think you'll find any free ticketing software... it's a pretty important part of an IT support group.

The first place I worked at used software by Peregrine, both web interface and stand a lone software to view and create tickets. Just looked up Peregrine.com and it forwarded to HP, they might of bought them out.

Where I work now uses a few different queue systems. Computer Associates Unicenter Service Desk, RT 3.0.8 from Best Practical Solutions and some in house system that was developed by our help desk down in Texas.

Try looking those up or contacting the software companies that created them..
