Cool, congrats! The crowntails are neat looking, but the double tails look downright astonishing.

nice looking fish there. I have never seen a beta in such a large tank... i thought there was some sort of reason for them being in small enclosures... cant remember.
Pet stores only do that to save shelf space. The bigger the tank you can provide, the better. Larger volumes of water are easier to care for since it takes longer for the water chemistry to change.

Congrats again, make sure to keep an eye on him while adding tankmates. He might decide he wants to live alone and go bat shit crazy and start harassing and killing his roomates.

Didn't notice the red in the first pics, definately a good looking fish!

Is there a lot of current in the tank? You've got a lot of air bubbles trapped all over. Or is it because you rearranged the tank?

well that is why i rearranged the tank the current was a but to strong and he just stayed on one side, but now he swims all over. i can tell when he hits the current though but he has a few spots that he can just sit. but the bubbles are gone after a night.

Good luck with it.
