BBS in danger?
Read this article guys... though I highly doubt that its true...

hmm, idk, unless they are selling their wheels at a huge loss I cant imagine they will go bankrupt
|
I thought BBS was doing great, their wheels are pretty popular? Or am I wrong :?
|
I see quite strange news considering that the BBS wheels have always been the most prestigious and most expensive rims; however, who knows? would any person think that bugatti would bankrupt in the beginning of the ninetees and it happened?
|
Moreover and nowadays, I see even more weird news considering the profit that BBS must have been having thoroughout the last five years or so considering its contribution with ferrari (and not only the formula 1 team) and most importantly, the championship titles
|
Apparently it's done, BBS gone bankrupt...
for those understanding german, here is a pdf about the financial period 2006: http://www.bbs.com/fileadmin/bbs/pdfs/BBS_HJ_06.pdf |

Quite likely some businessman will buy the brand. IMO BBS won't disappear: it just need some better management probably

Hi nthfinity
I didnt mean the bugatti when it was launched the EB-110 during 1990 approximately; I meant bugatti in it very beginning during the fifties or so when the brand had even more prestige than porsche, ferrari or mercedes benz currently; On the other hand there are other relevant brands which historically meant a lot but now on are dissapeared such as Hispano Suiza, almost Lotus, Talbot, Maybach (if mercedes didnt bring the brand back......)its more than enough if we see the JC Car Years Who Killed the British Car Industry |

I would really like some RCs for the M3, but I am too cheap  . |
AMS did a comprehensive comparison test several years ago with the relatively cheap RZs (if I remember correctly) against OZ superlegarra (sp?), and several other brands. Although the OZs where lighter, the BBSs beat them in every other test, including corrosion resistance, different directions of impact resistance, stiffness, lateral and radial runout, etc.
I just bought my second set of RCs. The new set will be for my summer tires and my (now) old set will be used for track sessions with some pilot sports I intend to buy this spring. |
My BBS rep confirmed that BBS Germany filed for bankruptcy protection, but that the US and Japenese operations (where they make their forged wheels) have not followed suit.
He claimed that they should emerge again after they are allowed to reorganize the German operations. |
