its standard prcedure for firefighters to rip open any car with injured people in it... i wonder where exactly common sense comes into the equation but ah well... i believe it's so that they can get the people out without moving them, to avoid spinal injury

As it turns out on of the injured in the taxi had a broken neck and was inches away from being paralyzed. No doubt that the firefighter made the right call and followed procedure. You should always help at accident sites even if that means your car is being fucked up. You can always get a new car for the insurance money but lifes are harder to replace.
